Previous Projects

Master Period at UC Berkeley

August 2017-June 2018, Mars Suit (Report)

Advisor: Prof. Boris Rubinaky, Dr. Lawrence Kuznetz

• Researched and prototyped an E.V.A glove intended for future mars expeditions that can preserve the functionality of a user’s hand while minimizing injuries and discomfort.

• Built our first and subsequent revision of the E.V.A glove with traditional CAD software (Fusion 360 and Solidworks).

• Be responsible for the relative design with an open-loop system.

February-June 2018, Future Commuting: Modularity Car Demo

Advisor: Dr. Kuan Ju Wu, Dr. Brian Hinch

April 2018, Connex: Demo link

Advisor: Prof. Eric Paulos

March 2018, Social Butterfly Demo link

Advisor: Prof. Eric Paulos

Feb 2018, Hatt-Un Demo link

Advisor: Prof. Eric Paulos

January-May 2018, Immersive Technologies for Product Designers

August-December 2017, Improving the experience of Breakups for those in a New City

August-October 2017, Leadership Course

Undergraduate Period at Purdue University and SYSU

November 2016-June 2017, Experimental and Numerical Simulation of Blood Vessel Flow Based On 3D Printing

Advisor: Prof. Jiemin Zhan (SYSU)

• Designed the physical experiment based on a 3D printing model of the blood vessels.

• Used ANSYS to do numerical simulations of the healthy model and AAA, compare the results with physical experiment.

• Analysis of how blood flow affects the pathology and rupture mechanisms of AAA to help physicians design regimens.

January-June 2017, Diesel Supercharger Snowmobile Rotor Integration

Advisor: Prof. Razi Nalim (IUPUI)

• Redesign the rotor fit for the design requirements (includes pressure, comprex, and thermal expansion).

• Find new material (steel 1010) and a new method (jetting) to manufacture the rotor. (cost under 1000 dollars).

June-August 2016, Smart City Surveillance Leveraging Vehicle-Mounted Sensing Capabilities
Advisor: Prof. Hongbo Liu (IUPUI)

• Used Android Studios to design a user application to provide assistance on optimal daily planning for urban residents.

• Designed a sensing application by Android Studios and Java, which can collect data (includes location, wireless signal scanning and collection, live road pictures & videos) from a g-sensor-equipped vehicle and send them to the server.

• Designed a signal den algorithm and filter to analyze the collected data and live road conditions.

May 2016-June 2017, Computational fluid dynamics of pore-scale porous media flow (Whitney Yu’ Lab)

• Segmentate the porous media images and medical CT images (less computational demand and more efficient).

• Image segmentation based on Level Set method and Lattice Boltzmann method; use an integrated and sustainable software.

Analysis vessel pressure and blood rate in venal and LVAD project (Whitney Yu’ Lab)

• Research on four different models (Ascending Aorta, Descending Aorta, Subclavian Artery and Without LVAD)

• Aim to research the alternative access for implantation other than sternotomy.

• Change the input or output flow rate, use the Tecplot to gain the different 3D vector fields and analyze.

June-July 2016, Training on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, Siemens Teamcenter (Prof. Hazim El-Mounayri, Dr. Shuning Li)

• Learned Training on Teamcenter document management, product structure management, and workflow management.

May-Sept 2016, Non-invasive Assessment of Renal Artery Stenosis to Renal Resistance

Advisor: Prof. Huidan (Whitney) Yu, Dr. A. P. Sawchuk (MD, Vascular Surgeon of IU Health)

• Conducted 33 cases of data analysis which included data calculation, image processing and correlation analysis.

• Aimed to derive a new renal stenosis resistive index to evaluate the hemodynamic significance of clinically-diagnosed renal artery stenosis.
